Barn Peg Drive

The timbers for Lawrence Barn were stored in trailers for for several years. In 2004, the Town of Hollis voted to provide $50,000 to repair the barn beams and the Hollis Heritage Commission set a goal to raise as much of the remaining $200,000  from volunteer donations as possible.  A Barn Peg drive was held to sell the hundreds of Pins that would be needed to hold the frame together. Many of those contributors were able to drive their own peg into the barn frame on Barn Raising Day, and an Honor Roll of Pin contributors has been installed in the barn.
